October 8 ~ Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ The Church has become the cornerstone of faithful service to you.  May each of us be of service to those in need in our area, and in other places in the world.  Holy Spirit, guardian of our hearts and minds, we pray.

+ In these troubling times when baseness and contempt seem to prevail, help us to fill our minds with whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and gracious; whatever is excellent and worthy of praise.  Holy Spirit, guardian of our hearts and minds, we pray.

+ For the victims of the shooting in Las Vegas: those who died, those who were injured, those who were traumatized.  We pray for their healing, and for a solution to violence in our society.  Holy Spirit, guardian of our hearts and minds, we pray.

+ For those still experiencing the effects of hurricanes in the Caribbean and in the South, and the earthquakes in Mexico: may their needs be met and may they be kept safe.  Holy Spirit, guardian of our hearts and minds, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Diane McBroom, mother of Natasha Erlich.  We pray also for those who have died, including Doctor Salvatore Raiti, father of John Raiti; and Florence Zarrillo, grandmother of Ami Cuneo-Raiti.  Holy Spirit, guardian of our hearts and minds, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Holy Spirit, guardian of our hearts and minds, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
